Cheating already

I cheated tonight.

I went to Red Lobster and had cheddar bay bicuits. Several of them. And brought some home. Definitely going to be something I miss terribly but I am assuaged by the fact that I can still eat crablegs. And that is a blessing.

Technically, it's not cheating because I need to maintain my full-of-gluten diet until I see the gastroenterologist. If they decide to do more testing, a gluten-free diet could give me false negatives, leading to misdiagnosis. And after years of being misdiagnosed ignored, I don't want anything to mess with my potential well-being. But it feels like I'm cheating because I had committed to doing this 100%. And I will once the doc says to go ahead.

Back to my normal diet for a little while longer.

And off to the store tomorrow to start experimenting with some new options.

  1. Is cous-cous OK for this plan? If so look for pearled cous cous which is a bit bigger "ball" and has a chewy almost pasta-like consistency. We love it. So glad to hear you have some resolution to all of the issues and look forward to hearing how things progress!
